Description
Two young brown bears playfight in the waters below McNeil River State Game Sanctuary, Alaska. Each year dozen of bears, upwards of 60 at one time, can be seen simultaneously in the quarter mile stretch of river adjacent to the falls. The congregation brings all age classes of bears to the falls to partake in the bounty of chum salmon. When fish are numerous, well-fed bears often take part in playfights and seem to enjoy contact with similar-sized bears. These two young males play in the still waters below the McNeil Falls.
