Northern fur seal bull vocalizes as another bull approaches his breeding harem. Dominant bulls are called “beach masters” and vigorously defend their females. The battles can be fierce and result in injury. Males can grow to seven feet and weigh up to 600 pounds, while females can grow to five feet and weigh up to 120 pounds.
