Description
Many black bears are born with a white spot or white crescent on their chest. The color often darkens as a bear ages but not always. Most black bears have brown muzzles as well as the patch of white hair on their chest. A few black bears are all-black with even their muzzles a dark color. This small bear is likely a yearling and had been busy grazing in a dandelion patch near a roadway.
