Description
Black bears can vary in color from white to jet black. A female black bear may give birth to from one to three cubs, with not all the cubs of the same color. The most common color phase is the brown or cinnamon color phase. Cinnamon bears are most commonly found in Interior Alaska. This young male was found grazing on spring grass and tasty dandelions, an early northern wildflower.
