Description
Tiny rufous hummingbirds are the only hummingbird common to Alaska. Anna’s hummingbirds make sporadic forays to the state. The rufous’ range is normally confined to coastal regions and islands where temperatures are moderate. Almost all migrate out of Alaska for the winter. They inhabit the northernmost breeding range of any hummingbird in the world.
