Aurora at Solar Max #1104

Description

Solar Max, or maximum, occurs every 10-12 years when solar activity peaks. During solar maximum, the number of sunspots, and consequently, the amount of solar activity increases. The uptick in activity results in more frequent solar storms that produce numerous auroras at Earth’s poles. Viewers in Alaska are treated to multi-colored auroras. Recent storms have produced auroras visible as far south as Texas and Mexico. Solar Max is predicted to last into 2025.
