Description
On a high ridge in Denali National Park, a trio of Dall rams pose on a high ridge at sunset. Although they are not large, dominant rams, these three rams are in excellent shape to endure the winter and the late season rut. Some of the largest rams do not feed much during the November and December breeding season and end the winter in poor shape. Younger rams, like this trio, have a better chance of winter survival because they are not stressed by the demands of the rut.
