Cinnamon Bear, Alaska #8744

Cinnamon bears are a color phase of the American black bear. The most striking difference between a cinnamon bear and any other black bear is its brown or red-brown fur, from which the cinnamon name is derived.  Like all bears, mature males are larger than females. Cinnamon bears are largely vegetarian but also eat, insects, rodents, baby mammals, fish and carrion. After emerging from six-months of hibernation, bears focus on the first new plants and flowers.
