Wolf Hunting Winter, Alaska, #5694

Wolf Hunting Winter, Alaska, #5694

A white wolf hunting in winter peeks over the edge of a hill in search of prey. Hunting wolves often enjoy an advantage over prey species in winter. Packs are able to better pursue and bring down large prey animals when the winter snows impair the prey’s ability to escape.  Rarely are lone wolves able to subdue large animals like caribou or moose, unless hindered by injury or snow conditions.
