Description
A mountain goat traverses a rocky cliff in Southeast Alaska. Goats do not have “suction cup hooves”, as described by observers. To be accurate, mountain goats have cloven hooves with two toes that spread wide to improve balance. Rough pads on the bottom of each toe, combined with a hard outer rim, provide incredible traction, a somewhat non-slip surface.
