Juvenile Black Wolf, Alaska #5165

Juvenile Black Wolf, Alaska #5165

A juvenile black wolf emerges from a winter forest. Wolves range in color from white to black, with gray a more common color. White wolves are often called “tundra wolves” and black wolves “night hunters.” Coloration does not determine hunting ability or style. Wolves must travel many miles in order to find food and survive the harsh northern winters.
