Description

Mount Denali’s North Face glows at sunset as viewed from famed Reflection Pond. The North Face was first attempted by pioneer climbers in 1906. Considered one of the most dangerous routes on Denali, with unstable ice and snow and subject to rockfall and avalanches. Considered a death route, the Wickersham Wall has only been climbed a few times with the first ascent in 1963. The Harvard Mountaineering Club also made the second ascent in 1963. The North Face is a spectacular rise from low tundra to the North Summit.
