Description
On the edge of the Beaufort Sea in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, four arctic fox pups peer out from their den located under driftwood. Permafrost along the coast prevents foxes from digging dens and so they often den under driftwood, or other debris. These pups are less than a month old and are part of a litter of eight. Both parents feed the pups supplying birds, eggs, and small rodents.
