Description
Arctic foxes, or white foxes, are a circumpolar species. A few foxes have even been spotted near the North Pole. One fox was tracked from the Svalbard Archipelago to Canada’s eastern arctic, a distance of 3800 miles. These small foxes, from six to fifteen pounds, are uniquely adapted to arctic conditions. They often follow polar bears to scavenge at bear kills.
