Polar Bears Sparring, Hudson’s Bay, Canada #19052
Polar Bears Sparring Hudson’s Bay, Canada #19052
$25.00 – $255.00
Description
Two young polar bears spar on early ice forming along Canada’s Hudson’s Bay. Sparring is a form of play. Play is important for social as well as physical development. Most mammals and birds exhibit play behavior as all animals need to be able to distinguish between play and real aggression or a mating display. Bears sometimes inflict minor wounds on one another while “play-fighting.” Almost always play is between equal-sized animals and rarely between dominant and subordinate bears.
