Description
Two cow moose sparring over spatial separation in autumn Alaska. During the autumn rutting season, which peaks in Alaska in the third week of September, moose cows can be quite testy and impatient with one another. These two cows repeatedly kicked at one another. A moose’s hooves can be deadly but none of the strikes seemed to injure either moose. After an hour or so of back and forth, the cows moved away from one another and returned to browsing.
