Description
Canada lynx may have from one to eight kittens. Litters are largest when prey species are abundant, and lower when food is scarce. Kittens are born in May and June and consume milk from their mother for about five months, although kittens eat some meat as early as one month of age. The first winter is a test for lynx kittens, some dying of starvation.
